Southall is a largest Asian Community a total population of 65,000 which is made of the largest Sikh and Muslim population in the suburb London just a few miles away from Heathrow Airport the most busiest Airport in the world.  Southall Broadway also know as Little India because it make you feel at home, there isn’t anything that cannot be found in Southall that you would find in India, everything is available from Asian food, spices, restaurants, a wide range of  latest Clothes and jewellery whether it is Imitation to the real gold a shopper galore.

Southall has appeared in many Bollywood movies such as Patiala House and Goal, British Film director Gurinder  chadha OBE often sets many of her films in Southall which is also her home town. Many politicians, famous writer and Musician were born, raised or educated in this little suburb.  Sunrise Radio the first independent Radio catering for the Asian Community owned by Dr. Avtar Lit as became the most successful commercial radio in UK, the impact by the local Asian community was phenomenal which took the just few years to become so successful than any other Asian radio in the whole of UK.

This small town is full of traditional values no matter what culture you belong too living in harmony in a multi-cultural community. There are 10 sikh temples including the world largest  Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha  built outside India in 2003 which has because one of the Local landmark, visited by many around the world to see its magnificent architectural work.  There are 10 churches, 2 large Hindu temples (mandirs) and 3 mosques (masjids).

The main Southall Broadway is undergoing a dramatic facelift, a multi million pounds is been spend by the local council to modernize the town to make it more attractive as well as improving traffic flow and pedestrian safety. This change is to aim for a better place to live, work and visit.
